Registration Information
- All persons attending the conference must register.
- First authors must register and submit their abstracts by:
- March 7, 2008 (Poster) or
- March 21, 2008 (Talk)
- Submission of abstracts must be done online by the FIRST author. You will have the opportunity to submit your abstract at the same time that you register.
- First authors need to pay their registration fee before their abstract submission can be accepted for presentation. If your school or faculty sponsor is paying your registration fee, they need to contact Dr. Caridad Brito, via email at cfbrito@eiu.edu, before March 28th, 2008.
- Non-presenters (faculty, students, other) may register anytime by the end of Friday, April 4, 2008. Registration after this date is possible only at the door of conference.
- The registration fee covers a printed copy of the conference program, continental breakfast, and lunch.
The registration deadline has passed. Please register at the door of the conference. The registration fee at the door is $30.
Submission Information
General Information
- Any empirical, theoretical, and review presentations are eligible for submission.
- Abstracts are limited to 150 words and should follow the APA guidelines for abstracts
- There is no limitation in the number of presentations submitted from a particular institution, nor is there any limitation on the number of papers sponsored by a faculty member.
- No student will be allowed to present more than one paper or poster, although the student may be a co-author on other papers. The first author is assumed to be the primary presenter.
- Submission of an abstract constitutes an understanding that the student or a substitute will present the talk or poster at the conference. All presenters must be prepaid registrants for the conference (by the payment deadline).
- Presenters are expected to be undergraduate students, although they need not be psychology majors. Psi Chi membership is not required for participation.
- We cannot honor requests to present at particular times.
Presenting your paper as a talk
- You will have 10 minutes to speak, followed by 2 minutes for questions and answers.
- All presentation rooms will have computers available for using PowerPoint. However, we recommend you bring overhead slides as a backup.
Presenting your paper as a poster
- Presenters will be responsible for constructing a free-standing poster attached to tri-fold foam core or cardboard no larger than 38 inches wide and 28 inches deep.
- Only a limited number of spaces are available for poster presentations. If space is not available for a poster presentation, you will have the option at the time of registering to select a talk as a backup, or to not present at all.
